Perl stopping apache load
|
|
|
| We've got NW6.5sp3 as part of SBS. We found, via Apache Manager, that PHP
and PERL were both disabled. If we enable them, save the config and then
restart Apache at the console, Apache fails to load. If we do just php we
can restart Apache, but enabling PERL stops it loading. I can't find any
TIDs about this problem so any suggestions for troubleshooting it would be
appreciated. We have uninstalled and reinstalled Apache and all web-based
products but no improvement.
Thanks
Phil

OK. Any error messages? Logger screen, apache log? Apache startup.err?

Thanks for the response Anders. Checking startup.err showed that it
couldn't find mod_perl.conf, and sure enough it was missing. Not sure why,
but since installing this SBS6.5 server we've come across a few things that
should be there but aren't. Anyway reinstalled PERL and managed to run a
number of test scripts. Tried moving across an older PERL app (written for
Perl 5.004) from an old Linux box but can't seem to get that running at the
moment. First it objected to flock(), we took that out but now it can't
find modules. We'll have to work on that.
Thanks

OK. Not very familiar with PERL myself. You might get better help in
the Developer forums.
