Can I ask a very ignorant question - if OES file sharing is based on Samba
- why would you need a native Novell client for it at all?
I haven't had the chance to mess with the release of OES yet.... but if we
use it at sites, we will not be installing Novell clients. Windows clients
will use native smb access....
Am I missing something?

*When*. Thanks god it isn't.

Because OES' main file access is NCP.

Your call. SMB will *never* ever reach the speed, reliability and
functionality of NCP. If SMB is good enough for you, go ahead. Most
people want NCP, that's why Novell delivered that.
