Hi all,

New guy on the block here.

Not sure if this is the place to post, but here goes:

I hear there is a way to install multiple instances of NDS (multiple
trees) on a single OES/Linux server. I even had it confirmed by a
Novell instructor when I attended an OES seminar, recently. But, noone
can tell me how to do it. Nothing seems to be available on the support
sites, either. I've got a Novell PSE looking into it, but wanted to
know if anyone here has heard the same.

Thanks in advance!

I've heard it's possible with some tricks and lots of manual work, but
it's currently not a supported feature AFAIK. This will change with
eDir8.8.

Yeah, the ndsd processes can be mutually exclusive, so if you set it up
on different ports, with different data folders and configuration files,
then it would work just fine, similar to how Netware has an Admin apache
process and a regular apache process.

But it's not supported, and really not recommended unless you have an
extremely compelling reason, because you'll probably cause more
headaches than you'll solve, and your time and labor costs trying to get
it to work would be better spent just buying a separate server.
