Solution for Screen Sharing with FCS

| I found this very interesting...
"Screen Jax" seems to be a good solution for screen sharing... What do you
guys think ? They claim that they provide a very flexible solution for
screen sharing, integrating with FCS. And supports many resolution....
Any Idea ?

| You found it interesting? What a coincidence that their site went live today
and "you" found it interesting that "they" are providing a solution for
screensharing.
Not that I personally care if people advertise on this list..it's a great
way to find out about new products out there, but at least be honest about
it.
I think I'll wait to hear some reviews first though. The demo looks pretty
useless at 1FPS and 800 x 600. What's with the ordering by fax? Who writes
their visa numbers etc on a fax and sends it off nowadays??

| I tested i in the past and it was interesting but with
some minor bugs. Even if it cost much more, I prefer
camtasia.

| Graeme, for what its worth:
" What's with the ordering by fax? Who writes their visa numbers etc on
a fax and sends it off nowadays??"
I do.
I've been processing CC's via fax since 1997... I don't do it online --
I don't do the volume of processing that would justify it (less than
several hundred a month). Many customers have always "felt better" that
their CC info isn't stored in a computer anywhere except within visa and
mc's own dial-up terminal processing.
Besides.. a REAL hand-written signature is important to the CC companies
in the event you must back-up a transaction if it falls under dispute
for a charge-back.. (only had to pull records from the file cabinet
twice in all these years for such a (winning) defense!) Lastly though..
I accept new accounts from all kinds of obscure countries that even
paypal won't accept (for whatever reason).. and they fax the information
without batting an eyelash (knock on wood!)

I think the date they have there is just the today's date, as you can
seen in the news:

| "You found it interesting? What a coincidence that their site went live

Well we were in communication with them since last few months and they had
showed us a demo. We downloaded the client application and shared their
scree and result was neat and with good speed. So we were interested and we
asked for a demo version. They provided with developer version of it. The
screenJax before 6 months was different I had downloaded at that time too.
they have a bridge between FCS and Screen Jax server... And I found this
interesting because they are able to get the screen captured images into
flash with more than 800*600 resolution. I have yet to test the app fully.
Will do that next week.
And I am not advertising anything about screen jax. I just wanted to know
people's view.
Camtesia is good but what resolution range does it provide for screen
sharing ? what is max ? It is using virtual camera driver and virtual camer=
a
driver (Windows driver model) has it's own limitation of reaching to some
760*480 (dont know the exact) size. Besides I tested my app with camtesia.
It consumed my memory and CPU with very high number (even if I had P4
3.0GHand 1G ram) . Imagine camtesia on client's machine which might
not have the
same resources.
And using virtual camera driver for screen sharing has it's own complex
process for sending images to camera. It takes up lots of processing. Rathe=
r
I would like to have something similar to breeze. My C application captures
the images gives to server and then all flashplater directly receives them.
And Screen Jax is near to that. So I found them interesting... I know they
might not be upto my or your expectations...
But this can be just given a test driver... .
