| Dear All,
We will soon be launching a relatively simple realtime text site which uses
remoting & a remote shared object. The site has the potential to recieve a
lot of traffic, so I just wondered if there's any special requirements I
should look for from a FCS hosting company?
Thanks,
Paul

| Hi Paul,
Yes. I assume it is your own written application. If so you should look for
a company that can easily grow with your needs (as you are only using text
it is focussed on concurrend connections). I would suggest that if it
possible that you intend to recieve a lot of connections to discuss the
oppertinuties of a dedicated server(or servers) before starting with a
shared contract. A stresstest would be really something to check if you
intend to grow to thousends of concurrend connections. A check of their
network and no. of hops could be interesting to have. Last tip: please test
it both on Linux as well as Windows. We've found out that on large numbers a
difference in windows an linux based flashcom.
Kind regards,
