I was interested in getting feedback from current mail group users.

We have mirrored your mail list in a new application that provides a more aggregated and safe environment which utilizes the power of broadband.

Roomity.com v 1.5 is a web 2.01 community webapp. Our newest version adds broadcast video and social networking such as favorite authors and an html editor.

It?s free to join and any feedback would be appreciated.

Just FYI, what this actually means is that this list is now publically
archived, along with all your email adresses. Thank Roomity for the
coming spam wave everyone here will be seeing soon.
This has gimped the flashlounge list; we've pretty much all moved to
another list now.

If you google for roomity you will see that they have targeted pretty =
much
every mailing list on the planet.

The IP of mail.roomity.com is already indexed on Spamcop (since =
yesterday).

My mail server cross checks against several spam and open relay =
databases
before delivering mail so this doesn't really bother me, they can send =
me
Spam all day long for all I care, I'll never see it.

But by posting to a mailing list your address is pretty much public =
anyway,
indexed or not. Don't let the fact that you're not listed as a sender =
give
you a false sense of security.

What does bother me is the fact that someone can simply take this list's
contents and index it. How do they do it, by subscribing? By accessing =
the
archives?=20

I have an alternative mailing list on standby should we have to take =
such
drastic measures....

Stefan

Hahaha still this is very entertaining. With such a title it must be =
good,
right?

This seems like a clear case of copyright violation to me. Maybe someone
would want to go after them on that basis?

ListOwners@ChattyFig, what say you?

Best,
Jim
