| Dear list,
i've read with great interest every post regarding the ability to
"stream" a flv file without using flashcom.
It really was one of the best topics ever made in this list
So i was wondering... is there any way to do the "reverse" thing ?
What i am asking is... is there a way to develop a client which can
connect to flashcomm e publish a video ? (without using flash client)
Ok, i know it's a strange question... just to know
Thanks in advance,
Dario De Agostini

| No, there is no way you can connect something else to flashcom and send v=
ideo other than the Flash Player.

Sorry, how could you be so sure ?
The ability to send encoded video stream depends on two factors, IMHO :
1 - socket connection to FlashCom on the protocol choose by the
NetConnection
2 - sending Spark encoded stream of video.
I don't think FlashCom checks if the client is really Flash player.
But I never tried.
So theorically, if one was able to produce a client that could open a
socket and send H.263 encoded video, it should be able to record it on
the server.
But it is only theorical as I never tried it.
my 2 cents.

| This should work with FMS2 and the new API's for pushing data to the server.
I think this 'data' can take many forms including video.
Don't hold me to it just yet though.
