I created a folder in the FMS 2 applications directory but the admin is
still asking me to load an application and none are available from the
select box at the bottom of the left pod. Is there something else I have to
do to get FMS 2 to recognize my application?

I am running FMS 2 on Linux Enterprise 3.0 and it is installed in
opt/macromedia/fms/ and the application is in
opt/macromedia/fms/applications/FLVBasic.

Thanks for your tips!

Aaron,

Are you set up on a LAN to your Linux box? If so, run the app from
your development box and you should see it in the App inspector.

Bill,

I have gone over and over the intro chapter of your OWYN book and I am sure
that I have done everything right. I have placed the admin console in the
Flash 8 folder on my Windows PC to make it available as a window. On my
Linux box I have FMS 2 installed in opt/macromedia/fms/ and the FLVBasic
folder in opt/macromedia/fms/applications/ directory. The Linux box is
located at a datacenter in Ireland (it is definately remote and not LAN).

I finally restarted the remote server and was able to successfully login vi=
a
the admin console in F8, but the folder I created in the applications
directory is not showing up as an application in the console. I restarted
the vhost, but that didn't change anything. I have logged off and back on
over and over, but to no avail.

If I run the .fla by pressing ctrl+enter in F8 the connection string
displays netconnection.connect.closed. I am using
rtmp://00.000.00.000/FLVBasic/ where the zeros are my IP address.

I am not sure what you mean by running the app from my development box
because I believe that is what I am doing but it is not working.

Thanks,
Aaron
