| Hello FMSers,
I'm setting up an online store. Can anyone recommend a good (or bad)
service provider for online financial x-fers. My client's got
PayPal, but I'd like something more robust and less pricey for my
client. (Nothing against PayPal, but my client wants a full credit
card online service.)
TIA,
Bill

| That's a tough one,
Upon close examination Paypal isn't as pricy as you may think.
I have dealt with Worldpay in the past and costs quickly add up.
You may find more robust providers, but cheaper will be tricky and each
provider has a different pricing system which makes comparisons very hard
unless you know your exact turnover... And who knows that upfront?
If you have an existing business with existing predicted turnover then you
may be in a position to haggle. For some businesses even 1% credit card
transaction charges is too much, yet that would be a very good rate.
Unfortunately it's likely to cost more than just the 1%, at least in my
experience.

| Verisign packages a payment gateway with the certificate. Their clearance rate is better than most banks. They make it pretty easy.

| No, don't try 2checkout.com.
More hassle than anything else.

| Thanks Stefan, Randy & Naicu,
Another feature I may need is called "Digital Download" -- sort of a
pay and download. First, from what I've seen, the only site reviewed
that has it costs a fortune! I've written a few php scripts that have
a download feature. Any suggestions on that -- either as a service or
code to look at.
A while back I bought an uninstaller online and it looked like the
guys selling it wrote their own (awkward) download based on receiving
payment. I guess I could write something that would auto-fire a one-
time download with a payment notification. A call to a php script
that would generate an email with a 1-time unlock code in a DB to be
sent to the recipient. (There goes Christmas break!)
Any thoughts, references, etc. welcomed.
TIA,
Bill

| Hi Bill,
I dont know if you are seeking something like that.
http://www.vibralogix.com/products.htm
*Linklok for 2checkout.com*
As you probably know 2checkout.com provides an easy to setup service for
receiving payments for your products worldwide. One problem faced by many
developers however is how to provide a way to deliver digital goods after a
successful transaction. Download links created by Linklok do not show the
location of your full versions and can be set to expire automatically after
a preset time. The Linklok system provides a very secure solution and is
custom written for use with
2checkout.com.<http://www.vibralogix.com/linklok/index.htm>
*Linklok for Paypal IPN*
Works with Paypal's IPN system to securely deliver digital goods after a
successful transaction on Paypal. Download links created by Linklok do not

after a preset time. The Linklok system provides a very secure solution and
is custom written for use with Paypal.<http://www.vibralogix.com/linklokipn=

*Linklok for Stormpay*
Works with Stormpay's IPN system to securely deliver digital goods after a
successful transaction on Stormpay. Download links created by Linklok do no=
t
show the location of your products and can be set to expire automatically
after a preset time. The Linklok system provides a very secure solution and
is custom written for use with Stormpay.<http://www.vibralogix.com/linkloks=

*Linklok for Clickbank*
Protects your Clickbank thank you page from reuse, bookmarking or sharing.
Download links contained in the page are time limited and cannot be shared.
Many similar systems simply cliam to be 'Hacker Proof' but we think
Linklok is the most secure system available for
Clickbank.<http://www.vibralogix.com/linklokcb/>
*Linklok for iKobo*
Works with the iKobo IPN system to securely deliver digital goods after a
successful transaction on iKobo. Download links created by Linklok do not
show the location of your products and can be set to expire automatically

*Linklok for Mal's e-commerce*
Integrates with the Mals-e shopping cart (free or premium) to provide secur=
e
delivery of your digital products. Many features including the ability to
lock download links to the IP address of the client.
I have used some of them and it is very easy to integrate and use them.
I hope that can help you.
Best Regards,
Leo.
