Author update...gecko browsers

hi everyone.

i'm back with another update on a problem i've been having for days. the
situation is that i have a flash presentation making remoting calls to a
cold fusion method.

i have a loader.swf that makes a connection my flashcomm server. once
that is established, i call in an external streaming file.

on frame 1 of this file i have a tracking component placed off the
stage. also, on frame 1, i invoke the tracker.connect() method which
parses an xml file to retrieve the address for the gateway i'm
connecting to and then the service ( the cold fusion method ).

out of the flash ide, the remoting calls are being made and the
coldfusion method is dumping data into my database. also, on my internal
testing server, which is a stripped down version of my production
server, everything is working on all browsers.

but on my production server, gecko browsers will make the calls to the
method, but if i put in a trace statement in my coldfusion method, i can
tell that it never gets to it.

so, it makes the calls to invoke the method but it doesn't actually get
to the method at all. does anyone know why this might happen? does my
component never make the connection to the gateway or the service?

thanks. - matt.

Matt,
please post some code, it could be that you haven't implemented a XML onLoad
method so you are trying to call the gateway before the XML data is present.
In testing on a LAN this may succeed, in production it could fail because it
takes a little longer to fetch the data.

I am just having a stab in the dark here.

Also could you use the Netconnection debugger to see if the connection to
the gateway is actually established?

Stefan
