dynamic thumbnail generation...

| Hi all,
I am working on some code Chris Hock used at the Max conference to =
dynamically generate thumbnails from an XML list and FCS. I've got =
everything running fine on a PC, but when I test on a mac, I get issues =
with the video not starting right away (although the sound does) and =
sometimes the thumbnails do not generate at all (hence the corresponding =
video does not play). Has anyone run across these issues on a mac =
platform? Can anyone suggest a solution?
Thanks for the help.

it's a local thing, it could be a video encoding thing, or a player =

Thanks Daz. Yes, the videos work fine on the mac when I stream them
through another player and there does not appear to be any encoding
issues. I was wondering if anyone else had tried the dynamic thumbnail
generation code and received similar results. I have also tested the
page with several macs at different locations, and all the macs (in all
browsers) come up with the same issues.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

| Scott,
I am interested in doing the exact same thing. Could you tell me where
I find I could find the thumbnail generation code?
Thanks
Hank

Sure Hank. You can find a DevCenter article with code at:
http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/mx...deo_player.html
we have been working from this and some additional code that the
article was based upon. It works very nicely on a Windows environment,
but we are completely stumped when it come to the Mac. This is our
first experience with compatibility issues. Somewhere, someone has got
to have tried this with success on the Mac.
Let me know if you run into the same issues. Perhaps we can solve this
one together Hank. Thanks for the input.
