Village idiot needs help...

| Hi all, tonight I wanted to get my first FCS SO script running. The
EASIEST example I could find to follow was Stefan's counter tutorial:
http://www.flashcomguru.com/tutoria...ess_counter.cfm
.... I typed it out and loaded it up without success. I knew *I* had to
be the weak link because the counter is simply not complex enough to
screw up. So I kept hammering away until I tried something else - I
moved the main.asc to it's own counter directory.
I had originally saved/uploaded main.asc as counter.asc and simply
pointed to it in the components.asc file in scriptlib. I have done
this for several script files with great success.
My question for you guys is, what's going on? If I wanted a SO to be
accessible to ALL my apps would I not point to it in components.asc so
it loads right off the bat? Or do SO's not actually work that way? (I
feel like I just stated something stupid)
If I wanted to create some persistent SO's for use in a room then
should I add these declarations to main.asc all the time?
I get the overall point and use of SO's, I just don't understand their
*place* in the overall structure and if there are certain rules as to
how we exec them etc.
Thanks for any insight.
Sincerely,
Simon

| Hey Simon,
That happens to be a tutorial I did and you're right, it is pretty
simple. Tuned to the person who wants to understand some basics of SO's.
As for getting *all* of your apps to use it, you'd have to setup an internal
connection server side (like a proxy) to the app as you can't share SO's
between apps (as far as I know).

Ahhh, I kinda found it odd that Stefan had two accounts, 1 named stoem
and the other named ultimate. Now it makes more sense...
