Author last doubt about license to buy

Thanks for answered me, Bill, Andreas and Brian.

Many thanks to Brian for the particulary long and exhaustive answer. now I
understand better that macromedia simply can't care about small developers
like me. I know how difficult is closing the year in an active financial
way so I run to make a pay-pal donation to them ;) If only I knew how
injurious I've been for that poor firm. I'm really want to punish myself for
that, but now is difficult to turn back. I have most of the code working,
only the streaming part is remained to do and so I'm thinking that, perhaps,
I can make a try for a personal local use and see on the road if it's
possible to leave some green ticket attached to future projects.

I never found the price of the pro version on macromedia web site... perhaps
is my english but I found only all about FCS developer edition, how to buy
it, how to upgrade.. but no way to find a link to the pro version. I
already said that, perhaps, I'm not a genius but I looked that page so long
that now I see it even if I don't look the monitor ;) but no link to the pro
edition's page appeared. Aniway I manually edited the querystring in the
address that carried me in the 'buy' page of the dev edition (changing all
the FlashComDev strings with FlashCommPro)and I finally reach the pro
edition page. Now I discovered that it cost 4,759? and I have only to
choose if make an holyday in some Caribbean island of try to earn something
with that software :| Aniway... most of the professional software are
expensive... I've spent many thousand euros for 3d softwares but, at least,
I continue to produce with them... I mean that I don't need to buy a copy of
Maya every time I develope a 3D project...

My last consideration on that is that flash player is installed on all the
computers now and when a firm become so popular and necessary usually don't
suffer of hungry.

By the way, Andreas and Bill suggested me that isn't possible to share a
desktop, at least before have converted it in some video format before
publishing (.mov or .flv) and it have a sense but I think I escaped the
problem with a stupid and, perhaps, useless trick. I'm able right now to
share a camtasia desktop (at least I'm quite sure that I'm doing it) without
converting it in flv or something else before streaming it. I simply send
directly it's stream like a webcam... obviously the webcam isn't working
when camtasia driver work. In few words flash use the camtasia driver
thinking that is a webcam cause I've abilitated the 'realtime output' in
it... so, if I start realtime recording of a small portion of my desktop
with camtasia recorder, on a connected client i'm able to see it on
connected clients... at least for few secs.

I'm suffering of hallucinations or I'm really sending my desktop to other
connected clients in realtime?

I'm on free dev edition right now and so all stop working in few secs... but
I was thinking it was only for this reason and that all of this problems
will be cured buyng the retail version. Is this correct? My few seconds
of streaming ability are caused from the free edition, limited in bandwidth
to 0.25mbps or is that it really cant be done?

Sorry again for my ridiculous English and lots of thanks for helping me! I
know it's no simply to help people at my low level of knowledge of FCS.

Thanks, Spectre

Have you tried doing a screen capture with 2 browser windows open using the
local host? If you can do that then most definitely you can do live what you
can locally (with in reason). compare what you've created locally with the
performance from the server logically and you may find your answer.

Also, from my looking into Camtasia, they out put jpg "slides" which I
suppose would be quite large in a stream. But I didn't look to deeply into
it.

If you use HyperCam (which you can download free as Sharewre) you can
do screen captures saved as AVI files. Import the AVI files into Flash
and export them as FLV files, and then use progressive download to play
them. (Goggle up HyperCam)

You can use hosting instead of actually buying it.

Influxis.com costs $10 a month, and Mediatemplet.net costs $15.
