Hi Everybody,

I've got a strange one going on here again. It's got to do with the
ConnectionLight. I use the following line of code to put it into my movie:

this.connLight = this.top.attachMovie('FCConnectionLightSymbol',
'connLight', this.top.getNextHighestDepth());

Which works as I am telling it to. Somewhat farther in the scripts, I
create and connect a NetConnection - which connects as it should. Right
after the connect, I call this.connLight.connect(nc) to connect the
ConnectionLight. And that's when things get strange. Everything that
should work does in fact work. No problems whatsoever on one but one
thing. I see my connectionlight going from red to green to red again
(when I kill the server, I sometimes enjoy doing that). But once
clicked, it opens and doesn't show any values. No latency, no up and
downstream bandwidth. Just plain nothing.

Before I forget to mention it; I have loaded components.asc into my
main.asc file.

If this doesn't sound strange to you, please tell me why. And if it does
and you know how to fix it; I'd appriciate it if you'd share that with me.

thanks,
Wouter

Hi Wouter,

I was also facing this kind of problem before, I was not able to see
the stats mc but the light turns to green...this connectionlight was
in some other mc after putting this light in _root it started working
fine...

....try attaching it to _root timeline.

hope it helps...

Regards,
Vishnu Vardhan.

Hmm ... I'll give it a try first thing tomorrow morning when I get to
work. And if that fixes things - well, I'm just gonna have to get drunk
early then. Or something.....

Ok, so "first thing tomorrow" became the first thing on some
just-before-afternoon. Anyway, attaching it to the root timeline didn't
do squad. But the, almost at the point of giving up I thought: "back
then when I was reading some code in the VideoConference component,
didn't they set default values for each dynamically created AVPresence
instance, because dynamically created component instances didn't get
their defaults assigned". So, I assigned the default values of 0.1 and 2
to |latencyThreshold |values | ||measurementInterval. Might as well not
have done that, as it didn't do anything again.

Anyway, to prevent this story from getting long and boring. The eventual
solution was to assign the values to connLight.treshold and
connLight.interval.
