FLV Audio to MP3 Batch Conversion--What's the Latest?
|

| Greetings all,
Just wondering what the latest news is on the capabilities of
converting audio-only FLVs (recorded via FCS) into MP3 files as a batch
process. Is there any way to accomplish this?
To clarify, please note that the source files will be AUDIO-ONLY FLVs
(sorry for shouting, but it is significant and I don't want to include
a discussion on converting flv video files) and I want to convert these
to MP3 format in a batch process. The flv files will be created via
recording through the Flash player to an FCS account.
So, like... can it be done? Anyone actually doing it and willing to
share their methods or insights?
Thanks very much,
Jim

| Hi Jim,
As far as I'm aware, this is still not possible.
The problem is the NellyMoser ASAO codec. AFAIK, you cannot record with FCS
in MP3 format. (If you had the sound in MP3 format in the FLV, it will be
trivial to extract it and then have a batch solution).
Unless an app can decode NellyMoser, we're out of luck. (One such app is
Flash itself, so we have our solution with ASV, but it cannot be batched
because Flash won't import a FLV with JSAPI).
Best regards,
Burak
