Hi everybody,

=20

I have my chat app running but now I need to let a person subscribe to
multiple rooms and have their video feed carry over if they are already
publishing to an existing room. I have heard mention of "proxy
streams". Is there a way I can proxy over a video feed from one
application instance to another on the server like I would with a shared
object? Thanks!

Ps. If you are wondering why am I doing it this way is because you
can't seemingly run two flash apps that want to use the same web cam
driver. Plus it would seem to save on bandwidth to just re-use a feed.

i did that... the rough way:
fcs app "slave" connects to fcs app "master" and does a
Stream.play("name",-2,-1,true,remote_nc)

then your clients connected to the "slave" app can play the remote stream.

problems ? A lot...

it works like a charm, except when you try to use a windows master fcs and
linux slave fcs when your stream carries .send messages...
we experience weird (VERY weird) lag problems which affects only .send
messages.

If you plan to carry just audio/video data it's fine.

i don't know if using win-win or linux-linux combinations solves the
problem.
