Hello!

We're working on a webconference application where
users can create a snapshot using the netstream object
while logging in. That snapshot is used to help
identification. It's working really fine but we
started to worry with the exponential increase in the
number of netstreams that are maintained to display
those snapshots to multiple users. During one of our
tests we reached the amazing amount of more than 1,000
streams with a few dozens of users.

As I said, it still works fine nonetheless. The thing
I'd like to know is if the exponential increase of
netstreams can contribute to increase server overhead
to a considerable extent - despite the fact that all
they're playing is a single frame, being therefore
idle.=20

We've considered the possibility of either closing or
pausing the netstream after playing the snapshot
stream, but it didn't work properly in any case. To
our dismay, some of the snapshots would be displayed
and others wouldn't. So if someone can also contribute
with a different idea, we'd appreciate it.

Regards,

W
