| It may sound stupid.. but have you tried other port tests? If you google
for "flash port test" there are a few to choose from.... then again...
maybe the results will be the same.

We have a potential client who keeps timing out on this port test:
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/k...cfm?id=tn_16466
Not successful and not failure.
They're not going through a proxy server.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Brandon Lee

| I just tried this:
http://www.flashcomguru.com/apps/port_test/index.cfm
They seem to be passing the Tunneling tests. The others they fail. I
guess I can use tunneling.
HTTP Tunneling DEFAULT Success 1.2s
HTTP Tunneling 80 Success 1.2s

| That is strange that the tunneling tests don't work from macromedia's
site.. but if the flashcom guru test reports back that tunneling will
work then go with it... but just remember.. the flash player
automatically goes through a number of ports when trying to connect to
an app.

| So the player will automatically try tunneling with a standard
netConnection? Nothing else has to be specified, as long as the
"Application.xml" is set correctly to allow?

Interesting to note is that over port 80 it
consistently needs less time to connect:
