My apology for this off topic question. I just hoping that some among
you may have done some work with the Breeze application :-)

If anyone does have experience with Breeze, perhaps you could help me
with two things.

First, is there a Breeze support list you can recommend (beyond the
Macromedia Forums for Breeze)?

Second, I see that the Breeze player embeds into HTML as Flash does,
i.e. using <object> and <embed> tags. Therefore I assume that like
Flash, the HTML and Breeze content can be hosted on different servers.
Does anyone know if this is not correct?

I ask this question about embedding the Breeze player because we have
a requirement where Breeze would be a good fit. In this case, keeping
the playback functionality within our site is a requirement (however
for recording, an off-site link is acceptable). Anyway, in a quick
test I had set up to publish some of Macromedia's Breeze content in my
own web page failed to playback.

Thanks,

g

I am no Breeze expert but yes, it essentially runs inside a Flash movie on
the client using a special version of the Flash Player. Breeze is built upon
Flashcom so again, yes the swf and HTML can be hosted on a different
physical machine to the Breeze server.
With flashcom it's like this: the swf itself can always be served under your
own domain and the swf then makes a connection to the flashcom box, kind of
behind the scenes.
I always like to use the database server example: mysql (Flashcom in this
case) can be located half way around the world from your webserver that's
serving the page.

As far as Breeze hosting goes I don't know how Macromedia handles this. I
know they offer a hosted version (ASP model) and believe if you are a big
cheese with deep pockets they will also install it onsite ;-)

Greg

Did you try using a IFRAME instead? We have been successful running
Breeze training and Breeze Live using an IFRAME.
