Getting all audio and data into one stream(recorded/live )from two sepera=
te streams server side.Possibly away of only allowing the broadcasters to=
switch video between them but obviously not allowing video at the same t=
ime.

I know its not possible yet but does anyone know if this being seriously =
considered at MM for the next version of FCS??

The,current, work arounds would either consume to much bandwidth or requi=
re the client to become more technically involved.

Brian? Peldi? any one?

Thanx again

I don't see why this wouldn't be possible right now, unless I'm not
understanding your problem. You could write a method on the server side
switches the two streams into one main stream that clients would view.

I have tried a couple of times and also done searches on the list. It se=
ems getting data is not so much an issue more on audio and video while re=
cording. Unless I am completely off base, I don't want to switch I want t=
o hear both at the same time. For example I want two clients to have an =
argument. I don't want to listen to a walkie talkie scenario where one i=
s switched off while the other stream switches on. Does that make more s=
ense?

I see. FCS isn't going to mix down audio into one stream, but you could =
fake
it by selectively enabling and disabling NetStream.receiveVideo on the
client side for each stream - or by causing the non-video encoding =
client to
send an audio only stream. Keeping a recorded version of this might be
tricky too, but I'm sure it's doable, you'll just basically need to keep =
the
streams synced and switch the video source.

But that might be a lot of work.=20

I tried that and the results are unpleasant in most cases, Maybe I am not=
coding it right but there are some delays, especially with limited bandw=
idth, where things get ugly fast. So unless every client is on DSL/Cable=
and above its just not doable.=20
=20
Even the broadcasters may have dodgy connections. One of my work arounds=
would inlude the other arguer to have his stream pulled in by the main o=
ne and then have the main one use some sort of hardware to include it int=
o his mic, Like I said very ugly.
=20
thankx anyways.
