| Player:
1. Ability to encode the same wdm source at multiple sizes and quality
settings.
2. Speedier connection to server for users who can connect rtmpt only
And the server, just in case you're interested:
1. Automatic keyframe generation (enhancedseek) for the screenvideo codec.
2. Ability to publish a stream to another server from FCS app (as opposed to
proxying.) Useful for integrating with third party and legacy apps.
3. Sockets
4. Improved app inspector, possibly with a multi server switcher.
5. Cookie / session support for remoting.
6. XML classes

Subject: [FlashComm] What FlashCom features do you want in a future
versionof Flash?
At the risk of flooding my inbox, I'd like to ask the list for feature
suggestions for Flash that are related to the Flash Communications
Server.
What do you want future versions of Flash to do with the server? What
FCS feature did you want in Flash 8 that didn't show up there?
I'll start the list with the obvious. You don't have to add "me too"
for these:
* Real-time VP6 video encoding for camera capture
* Screen sharing
* Everything faster and less CPU intensive
* Fix the problem with video glitches that's been all over the
list
Please DON'T send requests for any of the following. I'll ignore you in
any case if you're talking about :
* Pure server features like AS2 support
* Server pricing, bandwidth caps etc
* Features not related to the Flash Communications Server (i.e,
drawing functions)
This is an informal survey only. There's no promise about any of this
getting into Flash, but I'd like to hear what you think we should do for
future Flash versions.
Thanks,
- Dave Simmons
