Author Split large FLV into smaller video and audio only

Hello,

I checked the archives because I thought I had seen a thread on this
recently, but no luck. I have several large FLVs (in some cases multiple
hours in duration). I am interested in converting these in to multiple
smaller clips, each representing a portion of the original clip. I have a
series of millisecond-based cue points that would be used to mark the split
points of the original clip.

The other wild card is I would like to separate the audio and video into
separate clips in each smaller clip, ideally in MP3 format. So the before
and after would look something like this:

Before:
Bighonkinclip.flv

After

Smallclip01.flv
Smallclip01.mp3
Smallclip02.flv
Smallclip02.mp3
Smallclip03.flv
Smallclip03.mp3
Etc...

Our company has the raw assets, so we could use the original assets to
perform the conversion, but we would need to pay our videographer to do this
conversion. So in an attempt to save some money I am looking for a solution
that I can manage myself. Does anyone know of a program that can 'split'
FLVs, or is there a way to write up a quick FCS app to do the conversion
automatically? I can sort of envision the code that would accomplish this
but I am wondering if anyone has tackled this before. Thanks in advance.

Hi James,

Here's one that you can play around with.

flvEditor_a.html

Type in "test" for the FLV name. Actually, it's turned out to be very
accurate. I'm working on a new version now. (You may have seen it
before.)

Bill
