Author With regard to licensing issues - FCS Hosting Co-Op ?

I have thought about this for some time now. Actually, ever since this whole licensing issue came up. I have an idea that I would like to float past this group
that, while it certainly won't solve all of the problems with regard to license it may, and I want to emphasis 'may' solve some of the problems.

I'm going to toss this out very loosly without passing along too much of my current thinking on it just to see where it goes.

My proposal is this:

A group of us create a 'co-op' to host FCS and FMS. We could use all of our 'combined' licenses re-located onto a few servers to provide ourselves with our
own 'hosting service'.

The goal would be to give us better peak loading, better redundency, reduce our 'off peak load' costs of ownership and provide flexibility in the 'number of
connections versus bandwidth' arena that is causing all of us so much heartburn. We could also drastically reduce our (Internet) bandwidth costs for those
of us hosting chats, streaming media etc. that are real bandwidth burners because we would be purchasing our bandwidth in greater bulk.

This hosting concept might not necessarily be restricted to FCS/FMS but could also be extended into future Open Source products that provide similar
features to FCS/FMS.

I realize this would be one of those 'committe run' things (and I am not overly fond of them in general), but co-ops have worked pretty well in the past for
things like electricity, water, telephones etc.

Your thoughts please.
