| Asa,
It's hard to say if it's a problem because none of us has really had to use
the functionality as it has been explained so far.
"Cookies get created if required by the application developer in the
directories".
Well, I put some code in that creates cookies, it works fine on a web
server, but does nothing but create a folder for FMS. Now, if that is the
way it works then so be it, if not, then perhaps there is some code that
actually works as explained in the past.
Once we have these cookies in there, I guess they could be used for all
kinds of stuff but so far no files get created. I'd like to explain further
myself but that's all I know.
If it supposed to work as explained, and my problem seems like a bug to you
and it's reproduceable, I'll be more than happy to file a bug (as anybody
else would), but if I'm getting the explanation wrong then filing a bug
would be a bit of a waste.

Hmm, good question. Answer is that I don't know that there is a problem.
There's the folder there, we all know that from the mystery that Bill has
seeded, but have we actually seen an issue here yet? Not trying to be coy,
but I think we're all talking about a figment issue here. Has anyone had a
"problem"? If so, can you describe the problem?
To quote The Breakfast Club
"I heard a ruckus, - Can you describe the ruckus, sir?"

So, what's with the cookies problem? Does it work for you? If so, do you
have a reference file or something that we can test on our servers?

C'mon all, let's give Ed a break. Can we get back to focusing all our
attention on the real megalomaniacs here? Me! Please feel free to
mention my name in all your emails, correspondence, credit pages, book
reviews, and Christmas lists. Asa also makes a lovely baby name.

This always confuses me. I mentioned this a while back and as soon as I said
that it wasn't working, as in no cookies were ever created, you went AWOL on
me. Complete radio silence.
Now it comes up again and it's the same answer. What would be handy is
perhaps that if somebody at Adobe could say "yes, it works, here is the link
in the docs to the details on that" or something. Although there aren't any
docs for this particular feature...
It's as if it's our responsibility to properly test your software, and then
report to you on it. Even though we are mentioning it on a very well watched
list that something could be possibly wrong.
Dunno... don't get me wrong, I've filed my share of bugs etc but it still
confuses me the response of "you deal with it and let us know how it goes".

Bill,
I've already said that these folders are intended for cookies. If any
application makes use of any http data transfer such as with XML, LoadVars,
Remoting, there is the potential for cookies to be used and if they are,
they would go in these folders. If you find that you are returning cookies,
but there is still nothing there, than this could be a bug, so we'd
appreciate if you file a bug report. If you don't like them there, you can
simply delete them I guess.
