Server-side LoadVars and HTTPS
|
|
| Marco Tabini 2006-02-08, 5:46 pm |
| Hello All--
Is the server-side LoadVars() class supposed to work with HTTPS? I
can make the client-side one work without problem, but from within
FMS I can only seem to make things work with HTTP. The docs don't
mention anything one way or another, so I'm just curious as to
whether this is a limitation or perhaps I'm just missing something
obvious.
Cheers!
Marco

first thing it comes to my mind is :
if your certificate is self signed you need to install your CA
certificate (you generated with openssl) in your FMS server OS in order
to establish https connections.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that this is against an actual CA-
signed certificate for a website that is currently running HTTPS
without any problem. Also, the same operation runs fine from a client
app.
Thanks,

| Hi Marco,
There are some known issues with the LoadVars object on the server side
and it's compatibility with the client side. These have been fixed for
the shortly upcoming Dynamo release. Once that release is distributed
please give your LoadVars script another run and you should see improved
compatibility.
Asa

| Hi Asa--
Thanks for the information. Any chance of getting an idea of when
Dynamo will be released? The server keeps dying at the most
inopportune times... like, say, when we have 500 people connected to
it :-)

| All I can say at this point is that the FMS 90 day Interim License
expires on 21 February 2006. Dynamo will be released before that date.
