I have a G4 iMac w/ a iSight camera, and I've found that the iSight
can gobble up a lot of processor/BW. It may be that while your
settings for your other apps work fine, they may not be the best for
your G4/iSight combo. Try turning off all other apps on your G4 and
run it again.
