| All,
I attempted to search the archives for ARP before asking...
Has anyone had any success in re-creating FMS components for use in the ARP
framework?
I have a big Whiteboard/presentation app that needs to be built and would
like to do it as a team effort (i.e. not just one guy with all the code in
one FLA).
Anyone?
Leif

| I have used ARP for a breeze-lite clone. Could I have done it quicker
without ARP? Yes. Would the app be as easy to maintain afterwards? No. Was
it a steep learning curve? Yes. Did I regret it? No.
ARP is great but there are some pitfalls when you use it with FMS. I haven't
built any 'FMS components' with it.
ARP forces you into a best practices AS2 coding approach and that can't be
bad. I will use ARP again once the dust around AS3, Flex2 etc has settled.

Thanks for responding, Stefan.

We love ARP at my office. It is wonderful. Would you care to give more
details on what pitfalls that you encountered?

Pitfall may be an overstatement actually. It was my first ARP project and I
jumped in at the deep end, building a complex FMS app. The problems I had
where issues around nc.call, SharedObject handling and stuff like that - I
just didn't know where to stick my logic and I run into scope issues all the
time. It was probably my fault rather than ARPs.

| Is there a site that documents ARP? I googled it real quick but nothing
jumped out at me. So any direction would be helpful.
