hi there

i used pedli's tutorial of Creating a Video Chat: Your First Macromedia =
Flash Communication Server MX Application

It took me 10mn to make it work in my local machine as far as i did not =
know a lot of flash (but know a lot in dotnet etc.)

the thing is i installed media server on my server and uploaded your =
sample there and it does not work, the connection refuses to be made.=20

suppose my server is www.server.com,=20
suppose the application name is starcoach=20
suppose my application is in=20
C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash Media Server 2\applications\starcoach =

2 questions :
what do i have to put in the rtmp: of the application ?
I put rtmp://www.server.com/starcoach

do I have to configure something special in my IIS6 (as far as I run on =
W2003)
or do I have to configure something special in media server ?

10mn to make it work in local and more than 5 hours to try to deploy it =
..

thanks for your help in advance

best regards

amos

ps: pedli's tutorial seems to be used by porn people .. watch out

I think you have the same problem as I had months ago...

did u try asking someone to try using your app outside of your connection..=
..
I mean, in other places whose have different IP number of your...

When I got this problem, I myself couldn't connect inside my network using
"rtmp://www.myserver.com/appName", but I could connect only using
"rtmp:/appName". But people who was in another place could connect when the
application tryied to connect to my full address
"rtmp://www.myserver.com/appName", So What did I do? Very simple, when
people access your website, and the page that contais your flash movie the
address automatically connects to your Flash Comm server, so you don't need
to put the full address in your app,
ex:"nc.connect("rtmp://www.server.com/app/Name")",
but you can only put the simple way "nc.connect("rtmp:/appName")" and it
should work...

I don't know if it's going to work in your server, but I'm using apache 4
and it works perfect...

let me know if you got more questions
