| Hi All,
Thanks for the replyes
We will try tomorrow to separate the system in 2 parts, 1 server with =
the
main chatroom, and 1 server with the other rooms, and then see whether =
the
performance will be better
BUT, I still don't understand that the use of bandwidth (I know that FMS
count UL+DL together) is far higher than the bandwidth use at the stat =
from
our ISP ??
Best regards
Bo

Hi Bart,
Same here. Or have a seperate server with FMS2 just for the chat (2500
concurrend, 25mbit license) so your platform stays consistent.
Kind regards,

We are also dealing with the same problem, we are considering exclude =
the
chat from the fms and make a chatserver.

Subject: SV: [FlashComm] How do FMS2.01 measure bandwidht <> License
We have got build a webcam chat, where each user can have 8 streams open
besides his own. It's not a requirement that he has a webcam to could
participate in the chat
We have 4 stacked FMS 2.01 licenses, license version 2, so we should =
have
4000 concurrent connections, and 160 mbit bandwidth
Our ISP connection is a 155 MBIT fibre connection, which yesterday was
upgraded to 400 mbit
In the past weeks the chat has behaved better and better, but has =
problems
with approx 200 users at the same time. From the FMS admin panel we have
seen that the bandwidth was around 160 mbit (sometimes even higher !!)
=20
We then yesterday upgraded to 400 mbit, but still have problems. We then
today reported the fibre connection as error to the ISP, and now they =
have
sent us some stat that shows us that we only use around 90 mbit at peak =
!
Now, the big question is, how do FMS measure bandwidth, and can there be
done something in the application, so we exactly can measure the =
bandwidth
for each user, and in total ??
And 1 more question, what is a concurrent connection ? - a user with his =
cam
open (upload), and 6 open (download) is that 1 connection, or 2 or 7
connections ?
And, finally; do you have any input to get a better performance at our =
chat
? - all suggestions is more than welcome
Thanks in advance for your answers
Best regards
Bo Jacobsen
