There is no such oob functionality in FMS Origin.

For the redundancy, this is usually solved by making use of a DNS load
balancer which monitors the origin server. If it senses that the server
is down it will switch over to the redundant origin server.

This fulfills the common "no single point of failure" requirement.

A less expensive way is to build this on the client side:
Have the client (re-)establish the connection through the edges to the
second origin server if the connection fails or breaks.=20

Of course, there is no load balancing in this case - but if your
requirement is redundancy / "no single point of failure", then this
should be doing the job for you.

Subject: RE: [FlashComm] Single Point of Failure

Alright so FMS2 has inteligent clustering among edges, but what about
the Origin servers?

If an Origin server goes down we are dependant on other measures to
set up for such a failure. Has anyone actually done work on possibly
getting edge type redundancy on the Origin? Proxy the Origin to its
brother? SetUp Edges to, upon Origin failure, point to said brother?
etc..?

Thoughts?
