FMS2 documentation regarding installations

| I have been going through the FMS2 documentation regarding installations on
Linux. One passage says:
"If you are running Flash Media Server on Linux, you'll need a Windows or
Macintosh
computer with Flash to create your media applications, and you'll need to
install the
authoring extensions on your authoring computer. You'll also want to install
Flash Player
on your UNIX server computer to use the administration tools."
Why is it necessary to install the Flash Player on the server? Are not the
administration tools just FMS Apps that will run on the Client, like any
other FMS App?
If I do have to install the Flash Player, then will I have to install a
graphical interface (KDE or Gnome) and the Mozilla libs?

| It's the slightly verbose way that Macromedia chose to communicate that: =
1. They don't sell Flash or Macromedia Studio for the Linux OS, so =
you'll need to develop your FMS apps on a Windows or Mac computer with =
Flash and the FMS authoring extensions.=20
2. The FMS admin panel is a flash movie, so if you run it from =
localhost, you will need a browser with a flash player installed.
