Author FLV has negative start time, does not fire onMetaData

Hello,

Using FMS 1.5, up-to-date-version

Some students have been using a simple online app that allows them to record
presentations on a webcam, and playback, seek, etc.
I've got one FLV file that's being stubborn. It won't fire the onMetaData
event, is giving a 0 duration and it won't play through the FlashComm app.

I've tried Burak's metadata injector, but that didn't work. It will play
fine in a standalone FLV player (riva). I've even brought it into Total
Video Converter and encoded it from FLV to FLV to see if anything cleared
up.
When I brought it into Total Video converter, I noticed that the start time
was a negative value, something like -9999478387623 s.

So.. Is there any other way to fix the metadata so I can get it to play
through the app? Another solution? Divine intervention?

Thanks,

Bill Pickard

Hi Weyert,

The one at http://www.buraks.com/flvmdi.

Is there a different one I should try?

Thanks,

Bill P.

I don't have premiere here unfortunately (and my trial version expired), nor
do we have FCP on our macs. I think all we have is iMovie I'm asahamed to
say, and I don't think that supports FLV video.

Do you think using the Flash 8 video converter would solve any problems? I
suppose that's worth a shot...

Thanks again,
Bill P.

Hi Bill,
Oh no, I just was curious which utility you used on Windows. What if you try
to open the file in Premiere ?

Yours,
Weyert
