| hi guys,=20
i recently got and flash comm account in hosting. i have 2 problems.
1)
i want to be able to control the server just like i do locally using =
comm app inspector, or the admin console.
the problem is that look like i can't access this feature. they (maybe) =
won't give me the address/user and pass.
i wonder if this is a standard procedure in the flash comm hostings? if =
so, how we monitor the app, how we see the number of connected users, =
badwidth usage, shared objects and so on?
2)
they don't give me access to the applications directory and i can't =
create the folder to put the main.asc file. i have to ask them to do =
such a thing (making me depend on them).
regards,=20
rodrigo.

| Rodrigo,
I would not put up with those conditions. Your rely on some wonk who
you hope will be on the ball when you need him/her. Here's what I
would (have done) do.
1. Contact service provider and ask them if you had admin access to
your vhost (I'd think they'd give you at least that.)
2. Tell them you need access to vhost as well.
If they won't give you that, change hosting services.

| We use http://www.influxis.com/ for our application hosting. They have a
small fee that would allow you to see how they handle things. I do have
access to the admin console in that package.

| Hi Rodrigo,
In order for each subscriber to have his own space in FMS, the vhosts =20=
need to be configured for the subscriber for your own account. Check =20
these guys out:
http://www.uvault.com/services/compare_isp.html
I think they have what you need. However, always talk to someone to =20
make sure.
HTH,

| Any Flashcom host should offer these features. If they do not then you need
to go elsewhere, not having vhost and application directory access is like
having a webserver without FTP access. Ridiculous.
