Perlbal - perlbal stops load balancing

Every once in a while perlbal stops sending traffic to the webservers
and doesn't seem to recover. A "nodes" command in the management port
returns a blank result. This behavior has been happening with greater
frequency whether I use a nodefile or explicit pool adds in the config.
The easist way to fix it is to just restart perlbal. Any ideas?
