We have an issue with one of our branch offices where they are calling
local 6 digit numbers, it can take up to 15 seconds before you get a
ringing tone when dialling out, if however we dial the same number with
the STD code it will connect within 3 seconds.

I presume this isan issue with the dial plan / route pattern but I
cannot see what is wrong at all, the pattern is set up as 9[2-9]XXXXX
and the settings are just like any other pattern which is not causing
any issues.

You are hitting the interdigit timeout, and it is caused not by the
route pattern you are matching, but by other route patterns that are
potential matches. Most often it is the long distance route pattern
that causes issues with local route patterns such as yours.

Afternoon Ryan,

As a test we have removed all Route patterns for one of our problem
branches except one which contains a full local number without the STD
code and it takes up to seven seconds to connect, if you dial it using
the full number including the STD code it takes 2 seconds.

We are using the north American dialling plan, would this possibly be
the problem?

James

If you are using the @ symbol with no route filters then it is
certainly possible.

Would you advise that we use the GBNP with the 9.@ route pattern and
apply route filters rather than adding in the route patterns as we are
such 907XXXXXXXXX etc

Also what are the implications of upgrading as the International dial
plan deployment guide states that there could be an issue with upgrading
if another plan is already in use. Also is it possible to add the GBNP
and run both this and NANP at the same time for different sites so that
we could slowly migrate the sites across.

In that case I'd double check the CSS on the phones hitting the
problem to make sure it doesn't include one of the other partitions.
Since it's only happening to one site this is probably the cause.

Your 9[2-9]XXXXX will never overlap with [7-8]XXXXXXX so that
definitely won't be it.

Thanks Ryan

As we are in the UK are patterns for long distance should not effect it
as they start with 90[1-2] such as 90[1-2]XXXXXXXXX and the local
pattern is 9[2-9]XXXXX the only patterns we have that could conflict are
the same pattern which we set up for each branch but obviously with
different partitions and CSS or another local pattern for London
[7-8]XXXXXXX but surely this would only conflict if the number began
with a 7 or 8
