Author Inbound and outbound calls sometime fail
Ruttman, Peter G.

2005-11-22, 5:45 pm

I installed a new office a few weeks ago and I am getting occasional
reports of failed inbound and outbound calls. On the inbound calls the
ip phones ring once and then get a busy tone. On the router I see this
message appear within a few seconds:

No dsps found either locally or globally!

I have maxed out the sessions for conferencing on the router. Could
that be the problem?

I have a hdvr2 card with 4 pdvm64 modules on it. We added a second T1
to the router after the conferencing was setup. I did shut down the
profile and adjusted the max sessions to the new value it offered. I
did not reboot the router though.

How do I check and see if all my dsp resources have something to
terminate to?

Did you configure your PRI/CAS before you configured your sccp
conferencing or sccp profiles depends on which dsp's you have?

Nope, I didn't get any errors. It came up just fine. I was concerned
but happy that it wasn't an issue after all...until now of course. I'll
check out the links. Thanks.

Just by your first statement, did you receive an error when you
configured the pri-group or ds0-group, if you tried to turn up all
channels 1-24, that you did not have enough resources?

That error can mean several things, one of the most common problems is flaky
DSP's.

Do a "show voice dsp group all" and see if any are in a state other than
"UP".

I am having the same problem with CME using analog
trunk lines. After doing some debug we are seeing
calls fail with a "Requested Cahannel Unavaliable
error", which means the DSP ports are in a hanging
state. We are replacing the PVDM2 module and the FXO
cards. Hopefully that will fix our problem.
