RTP packets in a VoIP network.

| Hello all,
I am working in a VoIP network and I have a question
using tethereal to get the RTP packets to saved them
in a file to be played later. =
I use cisco AS5400 with an IVR (just to do a transfer
in a Bridge transfer mode. The IVR adds the callee to
the connection and remains in the connection for the
duration of the transferred call): GW1/2 --> IVR -->
GW1/2, and I am trying to use tethereal command line
on the IVR, but I get only the UDP/RTP packet=92s for
the first connection (GW1 --> IVR), as soon as the
transfer is done (IVR --> GW1/2) and the communication
established, nothing is captured. was it enough clear?
I hope so.
Anyone know why is it happening? And how can I get all
the communication UDP/RTP packet=B4s?
Many thank in advance
regards,
Leo

| If I'm understanding you correctly the call setup is setting up the first l=
eg (which you can get) and then the second leg brakes it. The RTP stream s=
tarts from GW1 to IVR then after the transfer the RTP stream is from GW1 to=
GW2.
I'm not sure how your are getting your Capture but look for the RTP stream =
from GW1 to GW2.

| Hi Scott,
Basically, the scenario is: PSTN ---> GW1---> IVR
(transfer in a Bridge mode) --->GW1 ---> PSTN. Using
H323.
And what I need is to get the RTP packets for a single
conversation in order to be saved in a file to be
played later. So, what I am trying to do is use a
protocol analyzer on the IVR to get that.
Unfortunately, I just get the RTP traffic for PSTN
---> GW1---> IVR, after the transfer all the RTP
traffic is intra GW1.
Is there any way to configure the cisco in the way to
remain the IVR in the connection for the duration of
the call, so all the RTP traffic? Do you know another
way to do that?
Many thank,
Regards,
Leo

| Any way to use the protocol analyzer on GW1?
Span the port on GW1. this would give you the whole RTP stream. It will h=
ave to different destination streams but you could piece it back together.
