Author PRI between CCM (3725) and Nortel M1
Sullivan, Gary, GREENWICH,

2005-12-29, 7:45 am

We have a PRI between are CCM and Nortel M1 pbx. Was working fine until we upgraded.
We upgraded are CCM from 3.3.4 to 4.1.3 . Now we can't make any calls. the D-channel is established.
but when I try to make a call from my IP phone it disconnects right away. when I call from Nortel to IP
it rings once then disconnects. I did a debug isdn q931 and see the Messages.
Any help is appreciated

The first call appears to be rejected by your PBX but I think the
debug is missing info. The "Cause i = 0x81B6 - Incoming calls are
barred" should probably appear in a Disconnect or Release message
from the PBX.

The second one is also rejected by the PBX. I would guess because of
the Display IE but the second Release message is a bit confusing.

Is this H.323 or MGCP?

Are you using DMS-100 Protocol? If so, I believe you need to place a
check mark in the "MCDN Channel Number Extension Bit Set to Zero"
option in the CCM GW configuration.

Let us know if this helps.

try adding
isdn channel-id invert extend-bit

Under your serial interface, i.e.

int ser0/0/0:23
isdn channel-id invert extend-bit

I had the same problem with a Nortel 61C and the above fixed it.

try adding
isdn channel-id invert extend-bit

Under your serial interface, i.e.

int ser0/0/0:23
isdn channel-id invert extend-bit

I had the same problem with a Nortel 61C and the above fixed it.

We upgraded are CCM from 3.3.4 to 4.1.3 . Now we can't make any
calls. the D-channel is established.
but when I try to make a call from my IP phone it disconnects right
away. when I call from Nortel to IP
it rings once then disconnects. I did a debug isdn q931 and see the
Messages.
Any help is appreciated

Typically this type of behavior is seen when the Extension Bit is set
to 1 but should be set to 0 per DMS-100.

As Ryan stated earlier the Nortel is disconnecting the calls. I'm not
familiar with Nortel gear but are there debugs on the Nortel side you
can look at to see why the calls are being disconnected?

Is it expecting the Extension Bit to be 1 or 0?

The " isdn channel-id invert extended" command was introduced in 12.2
but it doesn't appear it is in the version you are running:

Also try (if H323), or is it MGCP controlled?

isdn flip-chan-flag

under the D-channel configuration. I had to do that
once when connecting to a Option 61C with cisco router
and DMS 100.
