| I think this is a repost (I can't find anything when I search my
personal folders). Has anyone run into any problems going for 3.3(4) to
4.1(3)? Are there any gotchas that aren't in the documentation?
Thanks again!!

| Jason,
I personally recently did a 3.3(4) upgrade to 4.1(3), and honestly it
was pretty painless but took forever. From what I recall its all
about the order in which things need to be done. From the OS patches
and updates, SQL, CM and so on. Also on Unity we had to upgrade the
"TSP" driver I believe? I forget exactly what it was called.
I know it doesn't sound like much help, but I found the documentation
that came with the upgrade kit to be very useful and informative. I
opened a TAC case the friday night I was doing it just to be ready.
Started around 7pm on a Friday night and upgrade my two CM's and
tested everything and was done by around 1am saturday morning. I had
never done an upgrade on the CM's before so I was nervous and took my
time. I also did alot of stuff I did not really need to do but just
took advantage of the time to do it all. Such as install CSA and
stuff.
Hope that helps at least provide a little comfort.

| Depends on your Maintenance widows but I would try and get it backed up,
patched and remove drives in a previous maintenance widow so it doesn't
take so long for the actual upgrade.
Removing a drive and remirroring took about 30-45 minutes in of itself
(per sever).

| For the last few upgrades/maintenance, etc., I've just pulled a drive, done
the maintenance un-mirrored, and rebuilt the mirror when everything was
completed (we use 3 drives in rotation). Saves some time up front, and the
maintenance itself is a little faster as well.
