Author CCM - Attendant console and multi-tenant

Hello,

we are using CCM in a multi-tenant evironment, and I would like to start
using the attendant console for some of the tenants.

Unfortunately, I can't use the corporate directory to show the status of
lines, since this would show to one tenant all users of the system, and not
his users only (the corporate directory does not seem to understand the
concept of partitions).

I have seen in the "advanced settings'" of the attendant console a "local
directory file" parameter - does anybody have an idea whether this could be
used for the purpose of creating a local static file of users (which would
be, if not ideal, better than nothing)? If yes, what would be the syntax of
this file?

Thanks in advance,

Wes Sisk

Cool ! Now users appear in the list, and I can even transfer calls to them.

But the “status” functionality does not work: it shows a blue question mark
instead of the promised icons. Any idea what I am missing?

We have seen this type of behavior with XP SP2 and having the firewall
active. If this is your case try turning of the XP firewall.

Are you using just the extension? If you use the full number I've seen this happen.

I have a similar issue - it seems to be only linked to the machine itself.
Other users can see the correct status.

I'm running SP2, but the firewall is turned off, and I still see a status of
?.

Any ideas?

how line status are propagated from ccm.exe to tcd clients:

1. ccm.exe sends line state update to local TCDsrv.exe process if CCM
service parameter "line state update enabled" is set to true.
this informs the tcd server side process of the line states. updates appear
in detailed TCD traces as:
DN: 4960048 Set: Idle
possible states are: Idle/Active/Ringing

2. after TCDSrv (AC Server) learns about the line state it has to decied
whether to send line state update down to ACClient. When you do a search in
the directory window, acclient sends a subscribe message to ACServer to
receive linestate updates for the lines in the directory search result set.
ACServer then sends linestate updates down to the client in UDP packets.

The client selects an ephemeral port to receive LSS updates by default but
can be configured to use a static port. on the clent, settings, advanced,
local host ip address (for line state)

ACClient subscrption shows up in ACServer traces as:
ServerClient subscribelinestate: inet address: 172.18.120.120 Port: 1818

if any LSS updates are available ACServer sends those down:
Sending 0 linestate(s) sent to client: 172.18.120.120

No state transitions on my lab server obviously.

So I understand there is no way to get this working through a NATting
firewall: the attendant console has an inside address, which is NATted to a
outside address for the outgoing TCP session to the server; but UDP packets
are sent to the inside address - which does not make any sense outside of
the firewall.

I have tried to configure an outside address on the client, but it won't
accept it since the outside address does not appear on any of its NICs.

I'll place the machine outside of the firewall.

Thanks for the insight

configure a static xlation for 1 UDP port, force the client to always use
the same port number. This should work, no?

The problem is not the port, the problem is the IP address.

I can only force an inside IP address on the client, and this inside IP
address does not make any sense on the server (because it's outside).

One solution is to assign an outside address to the client (although it's
inside). Ugly, but I might go for something like that if the customer really
wants the client to be "inside" the firewall.

Does anyone know where the fields in the Attendant Console Advanced
Directory Search (e.g., Building, Site) query from?

And is there any way to raise the maximum amount of entries returned
when using a wildcard search? Looks like it's limited to 25...

TIA, Amy

Well, something else about this (since all my questions got answered so far,
I'd better keep going :-)...

I have created a pilot point and put my extension in the associated hunt
group. When I call the hunt pilot, I first get the MOH for a few seconds
(which is fine) - but at that time I see nothing on the attendant console.
After that, my phone starts ringing, and only then I see the call in the
"call control" window of the AC.

If I place a second call while the first one is ringing, the same behaviour
happens: nothing while the MOH plays, then little bell when the call is
ringing.

Shouldn't I be seeing the queued calls on the attendant console *before*
they start ringing? =
