I'm getting the following error. Times ~500 accounts. This is AD 2003
and Unity 4.0.5

(Error)

Record=0, Column=5, Fieldname=CN, Error=Invalid character(s) in string -
please refer to the documentation to see which characters are allowable
in this field (regex=([[:alnum:]]|\x26|_|'|\-|\.| |/)*).

How do I fix this?

my guess is that you are trying to import a field with a comma in the data and it doesn't like it. the regexp condition included does not allow for commas as far as i can tell.

CN =3D common name in AD correct? Looks like it has an issue with Tammy =

Kelm. Compare her CN with another user you are trying to import and =

see what's different.

Nothing like cisco to not fix a bug. Bug closed.

CSCeb48323
CUBI:Failure when Alias field contains a space

<cmdbold>Symptom:<nocmdbold>
Cisco Unity Bulk Import (CUBI) fails on the parsing subscriber records func=
tion =

during any type of import or update when the Alias field contains a space.

The log indicates: "Error=3DInvalid character(s) in string - please refer t=
o the =

documentation to see which characters are allowable in this field =

(regex=3D([a-z]|[A-Z]|[0-9]|`|~|!|@|#|\$|%|\^|\x26|\-|_|\{|\}|'|\.)*)."

<cmdbold>Condition:<nocmdbold>
Can occur when using CUBI to import or modify subscriber's in Unity when the
account has a space in the Alias.

<cmdbold>Workaround:<nocmdbold>
Modify the subscriber's alias to contain no spaces and proceed with the imp=
ort
using CUBI. Or manually modify or add any subscribers who have an alias tha=
t =

include spaces, using Unity System Administrator.
