Voice over IP Cisco - Unity

I hope this is not to vague of a question,

I currently have a lab set up with dc, ccm, unity, and exchange. I can
import accounts into unity from exchange, I can call ext to ext and I
can leave a voicemail. I can not retrieve the voicemail and I do not see
it getting to exchange. I need help understanding how unity interacts
with exchange on this part. I believe all accounts are set properly in
unity and exchange. PW was run with success.
