Author Stable Call Mgr Version

Can anyone suggest a stable CM version and IPCC Express that they have
successfully running?

I am currently running 4.02a(sr2b) with IPCC 3.5.2 and Unity 4.05.

I would like to move to Call Mgr version 4.1.3 or 4.2 (if recommended).
I also realize that IPCC Express will need to be upgraded as part of
this.

Thanks,

Carlos

Well you're running on probably the most stable
version of CM that 4.x has to offer... Other then that
I would probably run with CM4.1(3)SR2... I've seen
some issues with SR3 and thier still working them
out... sr2b just came out the other day. I've only
deployed Unity 4.1 a few times and each went very
smoothly with very few followups.. (but 4.0(5) wasn't
a bad release either... unless there are features
you're looking for I would stick with 4.0(5))

I personally would not touch CM/Unity 4.2 yet...
they're both fairly new... I would probably give them
a couple month.

IPCC 3.5.3 SR3 seemed to be pretty stable as well...
You could not pay me enough to support IPCCX 4.x
yet... they are getting closer with newer releases but
right now.. no way.. no how!

So according to this matrix CM 4.1.3 SR1 is supported with IPC 3.5.3 but
if you apply SR2 to CM then you have to upgrade IPCC to 4.x....does that
make any sense?

Ahhh yes.. This is mistake that all of my SEs have
made at one time or another... I apologize I should
have clarified... this is NOT the CM compatibility
matrix.. This is cisco IPT test release "aka Golden
Bridge". cisco takes groupings of HW/SW and tests them
all together to try and find the best matches at a
given life cycle. They then document the bugs and
problems with interoperability. In a nutshell that is
the purpose of the GB. It's not perfect but it
provides an outline to build off of and which in a
Cisco Partner environment gives us a leg to stand on
when things go south. We try and follow GB for any new
releases that we bring to a customer (and intermix
that with field experience).

The CM compatibility matrix is here
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td...lmg/ccmcomp.htm

And the CRS/IPCCX matrix is here
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td...to/crscomtx.pdf

By far, the most stable and fastest version of CallManager is
3.3(5)sr2b... none of that having to wait for some app while
configuring the system... and it is rock stable.

Are you looking at this:

http://www.cisco.com/application/pd...a00803d82f5.pdf

Cuz, I am running 4.1(3)sr3b with IPCC 3.5(2)sr3 and page 48 of that
compatibility guide shows 3.5(3)sr3 being supported in 4.1(3)sr3a (and
I have it running with 4.1(3)sr3b (which came out last week).

In fact, that shows 3.5(4) supporting CCM4.2... So, I am not sure what
you are looking at...

CCM 4.1.3 has been pretty solid for us.
We just deployed IPCC Express 4.0(x) and are already running into multiple
bugs with it.. I think maybe if you can hold off on the 3.X versions of that
you might want to for now.. just based on our experience so far and what i'm
reading here.

We're looking at upgrading Unity from 4.0.4, either to 4.1 or 4.2.. fwiw I
had a engineer from cisco tell me this week that he recommended 4.2.

I need to look again, but I think Ted explained that the Golden Bridge DOC is really just a subset of the compat matrix. In any case if you are running 4.1.3 sr3b and IPCC 3.5(2) sr3 then great....that seems like a good combo for me as it gets me to a CM version I want and doesn't affect the IPCC install that much (just a new sr for me). Any glaring issues when you upgraded to these versions?

Carlos

Jonathan,

Following up on my question from last week about CM 4.1.3 and IPCC
versions. I saw that you have been having some problems with IPCC. When
did this start? After any of the upgrades?
