Has anyone seen a bug where a 3560 with a QOS config will remove the EF
DSCP tagging on a packet as it traverses the switch?
I have a packet capture where a packet came in marked on a Fast E port
and when it comes into the upstream 4500 it is not marked EF anymore...
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Jim

| If you're trusting COS on the 3560... what does your
COS to DSCP map look like? You may need to set it to
dscp 46, it's set to 40 by default if i remember
correctly

| Got that too...
One thing I was wondering-- If I monitor port g3/4 on the 4500 both
directions-
Does the packet go thru the incoming service policy before it is
mirrored over to the destination monitor port?
Later,

| The thing that really gets me, is it comes in to the 3560 as EF
It leaves it and comes into the 4500 as DCSP 0
I could see a COS trust map issue putting it to something else.. But
this?

| Jim,
What is attached to the switchport? We saw this happen with our Unity
server one time. I think we mistakenly turned on auto qos and had trust
cisco phone on the port. The fact that it wasn't a phone was causing
the COS not to be trusted. This in turn would remove EF setting when
exiting the switch. The fix was to put the command mls qos trust dscp
on the port.
