Currently running 3.3(5) on an MCS7835H1 and MCS7825H1, each have 1GB of
RAM.

Upgrading to 4.1(3) and the min. requirements are 1GB of RAM. Just
wondering if there are any known issues with running on 1GB, if I decide to
upgrade the RAM should we really see any benefit? Just wondering what is
the most affected on CallManagers with regards to RAM?

Trivial I know, but curious/concerned.

I think you have to watch out for the TFTP server since it keeps all the configs in memory. If you have lots of phones you should up it to 2GB. I can't remember what the threshold is, but we have 7500 and were told to move up to 2gb.

My understanding is that cisco changed the requirement for 4.1 to 2
gig's of ram.

We upgraded from 3.3 to 4.1 before cisco required 2 gig's of ram and we
only have 30mb available on the Pub and 60mb available on the Sub(small
deploy ~300 phones).

You will definitely want 1.5gig's min and 2gig's would be best.

1g would be the minimum requirement for CallManager. The overall
performance of the server will suffer if all RAM is consumed. All
services on the server will be affect, from dial tone to writing trace.

This states 4.0 but really should be 4.x:

Also note that the latest MCS OS also requires 2 GB memory.

"This cisco Unified Communications operating system requires a minimum of 2
GB of memory on the server. If the installation process detects less than 2
GB memory on the server, the installation aborts."
