I am looking for a way in CallManager to reduce the 5 route patterns for
toll free. Right no I use:
9.1[800]XXXXXXX
9.1[855]XXXXXXX
9.1[866]XXXXXXX
9.1[877]XXXXXXX
9.1[888]XXXXXXX

Any suggestions?

You can use a route filter that looks for area codes 800,855,866,877,888 and then have a route pattern 8.@ that references that route filter

We use 9.18[0678][0678]XXXXXXX. This allows a few patterns that are not
toll free but not much concern on our side as our LD access codes are
invoked from the carrier.

To the group....

This is what I am looking for. Is there a route pattern expression that
says 9.18[ any 2 occurrences of 0, any 2 occurrences of 5, any 2
occurrences of 6...etc.

I don't want to use 9.@ with route filters. cisco documentation has
sufficently scared me away from 9.@.

The only way I can think of to do this is with the @ symbol and a
route filter. If you really really hate the NANP and don't want to
use @ you can always rewrite your NANP file. Be aware that it may be
overwritten any time you upgrade CM though.

I will say that creating a route filter that matches only those area
codes is not very painful. You can always test with a separate
partition only your test phone can access if you really want to put
it through the paces and not risk affecting everyone else.
