| Just upgraded to 4.1.3sr5d - users now see Intercom History under their Directory button on 7941 and 7961 telephones. In fact, this is now above theCorporate Directory so these users now have to scroll down to get to the Corporate Directory. This of course irritates most users and they want Intercom History removed.
What is this for, is it functional? I thought intercom was a Rls 6.x feature.
Thanks,
Steve Casper

| Thanks I will do so. Is Intercom a feature in 4.1.3 with the addition of theservice release 5d? Can not find any documentation on it.
[vbcol=seagreen]
phone loads are backward compatible. Intercom history, like missed/received/placed calls, is stored in the phone and therefore sorted before directories URL features. Let your account team know this is undesirable please.

| No the intercom is only in 6.x however the phone load included with
SR5d added support for that feature. The phone however isn't smart
enough to know that the CM it's registering with supports the feature
or not so it always shows the intercom history.
I'll echo Wes' request to let your account team know if you don't
like this. Marketing needs to hear from the field about things like
this.

Ugh. cisco has managed to stuff a peer-to-peer firmware distribution
system into the phone, but not a "capabilities" query during
registration to CallManager that returns a boolean "display Intercom
History bubble"?
This almost seems like a mis-feature to me. I'm sure that someone,
somewhere really, really loves this Intercom History thing, and I'll
tell my account team that I don't. But does an organization with 1500
7970 telephones really have any voice in these sorts of things?

| yes, Intercom is availble in CM6. CSCsk99117 is open to track 'Intercom
History' as an issue for CM3.x, CM4.x, and CM5.x We have 24 customers
feedback that this is an 'undesirable' change. Each additional unit of
feedback counts. Feedback can be additional TAC cases attached to the
defect or direct feedback to the phone PM at CIPTUG next week.
