| Up until now we have only had 05s, 12s, 40s, and 60s. We recently
started purchasing 7906s and I would like to see if we can put our logo
on the phone after the idle timer has expired. In the past we only did
this with the 40s and 60s; we had it set up as an enterprise parameter
pointing to a xml file, and the 05s and 12s would not try and display
the logo. When the timer expires on the 7906s they display a xml error
5 and then go to the services screen. So, is it possible to put a logo
on these phones? Can it be done with a xml file also?
Thanks,
Mike

| From some earlier investigations, email in the list archives (7911 is a
1906 with a built in switch):
..............
- The phone does not seem to look for the RingList.xml on startup, but
only after you enter into the appropriate menu on the phone
(Settings/User Preferences/Ringtones -> and select a line to change too,
before it will start looking for ringtones )
- it's similar with the "background" image too. First you need to enter
the menu, and try to change it, before the phone asks the TFTP server
for the files.
- *However* List.xml does not go into the TFTP root, but instead into
Desktop/95x34x1/
( #copy tftp://.../List.xml flash:/Desktop/95x34x1/List.xml ) It says so
in the docs, but seems like I missed that detail on the first reading.
Disclaimer: well, actually, on 7911G phones they are not "background
images" as such, only cisco likes to call them like that. It's that
monochrome black/transparent logo thingie, that appears on the phone in
idle mode. It's a nice touch and really easy to upload the client's logo
there ...

btw, Michael, your ISP (or your company) is blocking emails from the
whole 195.0.0.0/8 IP range -- that's a "bit" huge ... so I couldn't
answer you directly ...
