Hi Pat - yes, that is what I meant...disabling the account in AD. You are
right, the message continues work fine (leave and retrieve). It appears
that the only way to disable the retrieval of messages is to lock the
account in Unity (even though someone can still leave messages. Thanks!

How are you disabling the mailbox? I just checked my lab server (exchange
2003) and don't see any way to disable a mailbox. Do you mean disable the AD
account? Messages continue to work fine when you do that.

If there is a way to disable a single mailbox, then, I imagine that, since
Unity sees the exchange server is still up, but the mailbox is inaccessible,
the message would be moved to the Failed folder.
