CallManager 5.x on VMWare - Linux or Windows?
|
|
|
| Hi All,
I would appreciate if you can share your thoughts about running
CallManager 5.x on VMWare. Is it better to run VMWARE under Windows or
Linux? What version of Windows or Linux? I'm thinking of usign VMWare
Server 1.0.2 (free download)
Also, realistically what are the minimum specifications i require for the
VMWare? A while back I tried running CallManager 5.x on VMWare 1.0.1 using
Windows XP as the Host System and it ran very very poorly. The system I was
using was a P4 3.0GHZ with 500GB Hardisk Space and 2GB or RAM.
Thanks in advance,
Serg

| It doesn't matter what your host OS is...
I use WinXP, because that is what is running on my laptop...
In said laptop, I have 4GB of RAM, dual 2.33Ghz processors and 100GB SATA HD
running VMWare workstation (latest version)...
I alocated 512MB to the CCM5.1 box, it takes awhile to boot, but it runs
fine once it is up...

| Try not to give the VM machines too much resources. i.e. RAM etc. When
you do that the system will run slow. Try reducing the resources and
you should notice a great improvement. (one solution)
